Series: Trails of Sin #1

I try to forget her.
It’s impossible.

Growing up together, Conor and I shared all our firsts.
First love, first kiss, first…
Not all our firsts.

We were sixteen the night she was violently assaulted while I helplessly watched.
I’ll never forget the sounds of her suffering.
Or my inconsolable agony when she left Oklahoma.

Years later, she returns to honor our teenage pact.
Except the boy she loved is gone, replaced by a ruthless cattle rancher knotted with secrets.
She doesn’t know my dark cravings or the trails of sin that lead to her.

I don’t deserve her, but one truth remains.
She’s mine.

Christina’s review

I have become a fan of Pam Godwin’s book. The way she describes scenes and certain situations that gets you truly emotional about the characters.  I believed I had tears in my eyes the first 38% of this book. The details and emotions that Conor and Jake go through are heartbreaking. This was done in both POVs of Conor and Jake.

“Living without him has been a torment worse than death.”

Having grown up together with Jake’s twin Jarret and Conor’s brother Lorne, they all have this bond that was truly unbreakable. When tragedy hits the group, they make a pact that only they have to carry out. Only to trust themselves. So many emotions and decisions had to be made along with the consequences of those decisions.

“But I’m exactly where I want to be. Where I’m supposed to be. I’ve always been his.”

Great story and dark. Just what I like. I’m ready for Book 2 Buckled. I have a feeling I’m going to be at Jarret’s mercy.
